Bon bini! Your ship docks right at the edge of Willemstad, so a great port day can start on foot. Here is where you land, what you can walk to, and the excursions worth your hours ashore, whichever line you sail. Updated October 30, 2026.
Where you dock
Mega Pier or Mathey Wharf
The Curaçao Ports Authority says cruise ships dock at the Mega Pier, which sits just outside St. Anna Bay on the Otrobanda side, or at the wharves inside the bay. Mathey Wharf is one of them. Princess notes that the berth varies by ship and schedule, so check your ship's app on the morning you arrive.

What's walkable from the terminal
Pierstop measures the walk from the cruise gate to the Handelskade at about 11 minutes. On the way, you pass the Rif Fort ramparts, the Otrobanda lanes and the Queen Emma Bridge. Timing tips for a port day
- Always take your all-aboard time from your ship's app. It varies by line and by call.
- Taxi queues at the pier can fill up on days when several ships are in. Kumbai puts the drive from the Mega Pier at about 12 to 15 minutes to Mambo Beach, 30 to 35 minutes to Cas Abao and 50 to 60 minutes to Grote Knip, one way.
- Many shops and some sights keep shorter hours on Sundays, per Pierstop, so plan a beach day if you are in port on a Sunday.

Which lines call at Curaçao

Carnival Cruise Line
Carnival's own Curaçao page lists the ships sailing there, including Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic, Carnival Venezia and others.

Excursions that fit a port day
Short port day: Willemstad on foot
Cross to Punda for the Handelskade waterfront and the Floating Market, then back through the Otrobanda murals and Rif Fort. No tour needed.
Beach close to town
A taxi to Mambo Beach, Blue Bay or Jan Thiel keeps the drive short. Kumbai puts Mambo Beach at roughly 12 to 15 minutes from the Mega Pier by taxi.
Caves and wild north coast
The Hato Caves and Shete Boka National Park are on most lines' excursion lists. Check Shete Boka's own opening hours before you go.
Christoffel National Park
Only for long port days. The park's own page sets a 10:00 latest start for the summit climb, so most ships' arrival times make it a stretch.
Klein Curaçao
Usually a no for cruise guests. Mermaid Boat Trips boards at 06:45 and leaves Klein Curaçao at 15:20, so it only works if your ship is in early and stays late.
Snorkel and sail
Boat trips and snorkel charters fill fast on busy ship days, so book ahead and pick one that returns well before all-aboard.
