Happening in Curaçao
There's somewhere to be most nights from Wednesday to Sunday, and Thursday is the big one: Punda closes its streets to cars, there's music on the corners, and fireworks go up over the harbor. Below are the weekly nights and the dates worth planning a trip around. We check them every week and mark anything that isn't confirmed yet.
Every week
Thursday in Punda (the anchor)
- What: Punda Vibes. The historic center closes to traffic for live music, market stalls, food and late shopping.
- When: every Thursday evening, year-round; the street program runs from about 6 PM to 10 PM per one guide (another lists about 4–10 PM).
- Fireworks: every Thursday (from our visits), at about 8:15 PM over the harbor.
- Where to watch: the Cascada rooftop, 4th floor of the Elements Hotel in Punda (Thu 6 PM–midnight; happy hour 5–6 PM; reservations recommended), or anywhere along the water on either side of the bay (from our visits).
- Getting home: the center empties within about twenty minutes of the program ending, the busiest pickup window of the week, so book your ride when you arrive.
- Cost: free to attend.
- Cruise guests: most ships leave by 16:00–17:00. Through 2027 only five Thursday calls leave at 22:00 or later the cruise planner flags them.
